Clone, Activate, or Stage a Policy

Clone a policy

Required Immuta permission: GOVERNANCE or Manage Policies

1. Click the Policies icon in the navigation menu and navigate to the Data Policies or Subscription Policies tab.

2. Click the dropdown menu in the Actions column of a policy and select Clone.

3. Make your changes in the policy builder.

4. Click Activate Policy or Stage Policy.

Note: If a cloned policy contains custom certifications, the certifications will also be cloned.

Activate a templated policy

Required Immuta permission: GOVERNANCE or be a creator of the policy

1. Click the Policies icon in the navigation menu and navigate to the Data Policies or Subscription policies tab.

2. Click the dropdown menu in the Actions column of the policy and select Activate.

The policy will display as Pending until it is enforced on all data sources it applies to. See the Authoring policies at scale guide for details.

Stage the policy

Required Immuta permission: GOVERNANCE or be a creator of the policy

1. Click the Policies icon in the navigation menu and navigate to the Data Policies or Subscription Policies tab.

2. Click the dropdown menu in the Actions column of a policy and select Stage. Note: Policies that contain the circumstance When selected by data owners cannot be staged.

3. Click Confirm in the dialog that appears.

The policy will display as Pending until it is removed from all data sources it applies to. See the Authoring policies at scale guide for details.
