# Manage Column Descriptions and Tags

The columns tab provides information about the columns within the data source, including column names and value types.

As a data owner, you can manage column descriptions and tags.

## Manage column descriptions

**Deprecation notice**

Support for this feature has been deprecated and is only available if your data sources were onboarded using a legacy [data registration method](https://documentation.immuta.com/saas/configuration/integrations/data-and-integrations/registering-metadata). Column descriptions of data sources onboarded through connections cannot be edited because they are automatically generated based on information from your data platform.

1. Navigate to the **Columns** tab.
2. To add or edit column descriptions, click the **overflow menu** in the entry you want to change and select **Edit description**.
3. Complete the fields in the form that appears, and then click **Save**.

## Manage column tags

To add column tags,

1. Navigate to the **Columns** tab.
2. To add or edit column tags, click the **overflow menu** in the entry you want to change and select **Add tags**.
3. Select your tags from the dropdown, and then click **Add**.

To remove column tags,

1. Click the tag you want to remove.
2. Click **Remove** in the side sheet that appears, and then click **Confirm**.
