Immuta conducts regular maintenance windows for the downtime deployments needed to provide a reliable and secure SaaS platform.
What is a maintenance window?
A maintenance window is a pre-scheduled period during which Immuta performs necessary updates and maintenance.
These windows are crucial for several reasons:
Security: Immuta applies operating system updates and security patches to address common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs), safeguarding your data from potential threats. Keeping Immuta systems current is paramount to protecting against the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats.
Performance: Immuta implements network changes and updates to optimize performance and ensure a seamless experience. This includes fine-tuning network configurations and addressing any upgrades.
Platform stability: Immuta applies environment updates and performs other platform-related activities to maintain infrastructure stability. This includes updating underlying libraries, configuration changes, and other infrastructure related work.
Staying current: Regularly maintaining systems ensures the Immuta platform remains up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
When are the maintenance windows?
Immuta schedules downtime maintenance once a month.
The maintenance windows are typically four hours during non-business hours for the local region.
The Immuta Status page contains information about the next maintenance window. Visit the status page to subscribe to deployment and downtime notifications.
What happens during the maintenance window?
The monthly maintenance window is a four-hour period. However, individual tenant services are rolled through the updates at different times, resulting in a typical downtime of only 10-15 minutes for each tenant. This approach minimizes disruption while allowing Immuta to perform necessary tasks.
During this window, Immuta performs a series of carefully planned activities, including
Applying operating system updates
Implementing network changes and updates
Performing environment updates
Executing other platform-related maintenance tasks
Software updates vs. infrastructure updates
It's important to note that these maintenance windows primarily focus on infrastructure updates. Most software updates to the SaaS solution are typically deployed outside of these windows, as they generally do not require downtime.
Commitment to minimal disruption
Immuta understands that downtime can be disruptive and takes every precaution to minimize its impact and ensure a smooth process. The Immuta team follows rigorous testing procedures and has robust rollback plans in place. If unforeseen issues happen, Immuta can quickly revert to the previous configuration, minimizing any potential disruption.
Your data is safe
Your data's security and integrity are Immuta's top priorities. Immuta adheres to industry best practices and employs multiple layers of security to protect your system.
